Islington Strike News.
Newsletter No.20 is currently being distributed (25th June) which contains information about the Strike and upcoming meetings. We,today (27th of June), welcome our Brothers and Sisters in the GMB on joining us on Strike Action on the 10th of July. Early indications suggest more than a MILLION on strike.
Potentially the biggest strike in nearly 100 years. Not since the "General Strike" of 1926 has there been so much anger at this Government. Take your Cameras or iPhones to the picket lines and be a part of history in the making. Our Local Branch can confirm that a Fire Engine has been secured to travel the Borough to demonstrate and that a van has been secured to deliver drink and food to the picket lines. There will be a rally at the Town Hall at 10:30. Also remember to follow us on Twitter and our blog. With less than 48 hours to go let's prepare ourselves to show that Islington UNISON means business. Good luck to all.....And enjoy yourselves.
If Councils, allegedly, have 19 Billion in their bank accounts waiting for a rainy day, let me tell you it's not raining we need to build a bloody ARK.
The 30th of September will see further action taken by the UNION following on from the action taken on the 10th of July. Details will follow in due course. This has now been revised to the 14th of October in order to join our brothers and sisters in the G.M.B. and UNITE Unions.
